The Essex Campus Academy (ECA) provides non-traditional educational experiences for classified and/or at-risk middle and high school students. The program uses contemporary instructional strategies and maintains a low student to staff ratio.

Students shape the blueprint for the curriculum by selecting learning opportunities suited to their interests. Our facilities include a recording and music technology studio, art room, computer lab and library.

The ECA curriculum is fully aligned with New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Following each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), the curriculum includes such student-centered elements as Conflict Resolution, Flexible Scheduling,Transition Planning, Individual and Group Counseling and Thematic Instruction. Related programs include Family Support,Workplace Readiness, Service Learning/Internships and Substance Awareness. ECA also offers differentiated academic instruction, a full service culinary arts program that operates a catering business, and an industrial arts program that offers our students a unique internship training program.
